About the artist
He began painting as a self-taught artist in 1952, but around 1958 he took up chalk, gouache, pastel, and ink drawing. His subjects often feature settlements set within the landscape. In addition, he taught drawing at the Agricultural College in Wageningen starting in 1956. Group exhibitions: Galerie Punt 31, Dordrecht and Museum Dordrecht.
