About the artist

From the beginning of the twentieth century, he worked alternately in his studio in London and in Turin; in the capital of Piedmont, he also attended courses taught by A. Marchisio, P. C. Gilardi and G. Grosso at the Accademia Albertina for a time. As a painter of figures, portraits (Mio figlio, Turin, Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna) and landscapes, he drew inspiration, in his quest for subtle atmospheres, from late nineteenth-century English painting and Post-Impressionism. He exhibited in Turin (1901, Esistenze perdute; 1902, La quiete; 1905, Veduta della chiesa di All Saints a Maidstone) and at the Royal Academy exhibitions in London.
